Prof. Roberto Mastropietro has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Milan. After some initial experiences both in systems engineering and software development he joined the Swiss Scientific Computing Centre in 1992 as system manager for HPC systems, and became later the head of the Systems and Networks group. In 2001 Roberto joined the University of Applied Science of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) currently holding the position of Director of the Institute for Information Systems and Networking (ISIN). The Institute carries out both applied research and teaching in the ICT domain with a special focus on Internet of Things projects. His main fields of interest are data management and ICT infrastructures.
SUPSI is one out the seven University of Applied Science in Switzerland and is located in the Canton Ticino. It covers a broad range of disciplines from health, economy, architecture and design up to various engineering fields.
